Green Roof, Milton Keynes
Overview
A major 1,000 m² project for a valued client in Milton Keynes — a full Fatra single-ply roof finished with a complete green-roof system on top, chosen to give back to the environment. Delivered start to finish in just three weeks.
The Challenge
At 1,000 m², this was a large roof on a tight programme — and a green roof leaves zero margin for error. Once the substrate and planting go down, the waterproofing beneath has to be perfect, because going back to it later means lifting the entire living roof. It also had to be delivered fast, without compromising on quality.
Our Solution
We installed 1,000 m² of Fatra single-ply PVC, hot-air welded into one continuous, watertight membrane. Crucially, before any of the green-roof system went on, we carried out a full electronic leak test across the finished membrane — proving it 100% watertight first. Only then did we build up and lay the complete green-roof system over the top.
The Result
A 1,000 m² living roof completed in three weeks, certified watertight before planting and built to last — sustainable, insulating and kind to the environment. A textbook example of doing a green roof properly: get the single-ply right, prove it, then plant.
