DAF Trucks, Norfolk

Overview

One of our largest projects — a 3,000 m² roof overlay for a valued client at DAF Trucks in Norfolk. The existing roof had failed, so we overlaid it with a brand-new Fatra single-ply system carrying a fresh 20-year warranty, and installed a new roof access hatch as part of the works.

The Challenge

A failed roof over 3,000 m² of a working commercial building. The client needed a permanent fix with a long-term guarantee — not another patch — delivered as an overlay to avoid a disruptive full strip-out, and finished to a standard that would stand up over a roof this size.

Our Solution

We overlaid the failed system with a new Fatra single-ply membrane and welded it for absolute reliability. The main laps were run with an automatic robotic welder — a self-propelled hot-air welding machine that lays down a consistent, machine-perfect weld across long runs, with hand heat-welding for the detailing. A new access hatch was installed and fully detailed in. The result is a roof welded to a precision you simply can't match by hand alone.

The Result

3,000 m² of failed roofing transformed into a watertight, fully-warranted single-ply roof — backed by a new 20-year guarantee and finished to a precision the client can rely on for decades.
